The ideal candidate for the Parking / Traffic Attendant position at Barton Springs Nursery is energetic, outgoing, polite, responsible, and professional; works well under pressure, enjoys interacting with people, and possesses strong customer service and communication skills. The ability to perform physical activities such as running, lifting, and bending is a requirement of the position. Must be comfortable working outdoors through the Texas seasons and weather. The candidate should be comfortable directing pedestrians, small cars, large trucks, semitrailers, deliveries, etc. We have a busy parking lot which needs attention the entire day from 9 am to 6 pm. We are busy this time of year and the parking lot will have a line of cars waiting to get in most days. We are along a main roadway so traffic control experience is a plus. The candidate must be a self-starter, highly motivated, performs well under pressure, and is flexible to help with other tasks throughout the day as needed, such as moving plants, unloading trucks, loading cars, etc. Since 1986, Barton Springs Nursery has been dedicated to serving the needs of gardeners in the Central Texas region by offering one of the best selections of native and well-adapted plants for this area. Physical Demands: This is a physically demanding job that requires you to run; stand; walk; use hands to finder; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Must be able to push and pull 50 to 75 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Must be able to push and pull on a wheelchair, 100 to 350 pounds frequently over considerable distances.
