Job Description Seeking a rockstar worker to be my right hand-person, assisting me on our 100-cow family dairy farm with milking, barn cleaning, grazing, general labor, feeding cows, etc. Approx. 30-35hours/week with some flexibility of shifts and which days off. You must enjoy and be able to complete the physical demands of the farm and be willing to work a combination of weekdays, weekends, mornings and evenings. Farming is awesome but it requires a 7-day-a-week commitment from us. Mornings are approx. 4:30am-9:30am Evenings are approx. 3:30pm-7pm *currently seeking to fill mornings 5-6 days/week with occasional evening fill-ins Requirements: Must enjoy working with and caring for animals, especially cows and calves. Animal care is a the #1 priority of this job. Must be comfortable being close to large animals (tie stall and free stall barns) Must value animal care and cleanliness Must be comfortable with physical work and find it satisfying Must consistently have a positive attitude and be easy to work with Must be able to work independently with limited direction (after training) Should be able to lift ~50lbs - hay, feed, lime, straw, buckets of water or milk, etc. Must have reliable transportation to and from work Must be comfortable operating basic farm equipment over time. Skid steer, feed cart, pressure washer, etc. Must learn quickly and see what needs to be done, would like someone who can work well under and prefers limited direction Salary: $15/hour after training OR starting if you have at least 2 years experience on a dairy farm. MUST be willing and able to start no later than April 26, 2021 (sooner availability welcome). Summer is coming fast and we will be getting very busy.
