POSITION: Seasonal Pool Manager DEPARTMENT: Aquatics Department REPORTS TO: Aquatics Manager HOURLY RATE: $20.00 -$22.00 The Denver Country Club Aquatics Department is looking for individuals that are committed to “creating a club atmosphere where absolute satisfaction is our highest priority.” We are looking for people with integrity and passion. OVERVIEW: Pool Managers, with the help of the lifeguards, create a memorable pool experience by providing world class service and a personal touch to membership and their guests. They ensure every member and guest is greeted and the presentation of the facility is impeccable. The Pool Manager must have knowledge of water hazards, lifesaving techniques and first aid, recognize hazardous situations and adopt effective courses of action in the event of an emergency. The Pool Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management tasks associated with the DCC Pool Facilities, such as pool maintenance and the scheduling of and cleaning of pool furniture and equipment, staff scheduling and supervision, and direct patron/member relations. An energetic attitude is required to excel in this role, as the manager must lead by example, motivate their team daily, and host regular staff meetings to ensure all are up-to-date on pool rules and events. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Directs the patrolling of the pool and the communication and enforcement of safety rules and regulations to create a safe and fun environment for all. - Will perform as an additional lifeguard on the schedule for the daily requirement of guards per standard aquatics operations. - To immediately notify the Youth Director and GM of any accidents, rescues, or problems. - Familiarized with pool rules, club bylaws, and guest rules, and can teach these to Staff, enforce to membership, and report to supervisors when necessary. - Checks first aid supplies and reports needed items to Youth Manager. - Performs required pool opening and closing duties with the help of Aquatics Staff and performs walk through of all areas to ensure safety and cleanliness. - Vacuums pool bottom when needed; empties skimmers; skims for bugs and other debris from surface to prepare pool for daily use. Reports to the Maintenance Engineer any equipment that is in need of repair. - With the supervision of the Youth Director, Pool Manager trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff, reviews progress and directs change as needed. - Plans in service trainings for lifeguards including first aid skills, facility maintenance, emergency procedures and other applicable information. - Performs duties of swim instructor and lifeguard as needed. Familiar with WSI teachings. - Manages pool area lost and found articles, keeps log of items and pick up. - Maintains and keeps all necessary records concerning pool attendance, accident reports, problem-member reports, lifeguard and instructor schedules, etc. - Ensures that staff members sign in members’ guests and record guest fees. Responsible for knowing the billing system and when to charge member accounts. - Facilitates games during special events and pool parties. - Performs miscellaneous job-related tasks assigned by the Youth Manager and GM. - Attends meetings and in-services as directed by the Youth Manager. SKILLS: Duties of this position require the employee to sit, keel, stand, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, and attentiveness to visual and audible cues for recognition and identification of swimmers in distress or in the process of unsafe behaviors. This position requires proficient swimming ability, proper application of rescue and first‐aid techniques, and the ability to properly extract victims from the pool(s) to the deck. REQUIREMENTS: - Must be certified or willing to be certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. - Prior supervisory experience preferred. - Individuals must be enthusiastic, hard-working, and willing to develop a positive rapport with children and adult members. - Required to work July 4th and some other Club events, swim and dive team meets, and holiday weekends as needed. - Position shifts will mostly fall between 10 am and 8 pm, seven days a week.
