MOUNTAIN MIDDLE SCHOOL MAINTENANCE/CUSTODIAN The Maintenance/Custodian is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the maintenance, construction, alteration and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment. This position also provides quality custodial services to the campus in order to ensure the facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. PRIMARY DUTIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION: Responsible for the performance of facility maintenance such as lights, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other repairs. Responsible for maintaining the property through janitorial duties i.e., cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and fogging of facilities. During winter months, cleans snow from entrances and sidewalks. Responsible for grounds maintenance to include sweeping, leaf blowing, landscaping and other work. Assist with set up/tear down of tables and chairs for group meetings. Assists in checking facilities for safety hazards and reports any deficiencies. Responsible for ensuring all windows and entrances/exits are secured at the end of work shift. Conducts regular maintenance of property such as pest control, laundry machines, alarm system and playground equipment. Assists with receiving large deliveries. Responsible for moving furniture and supplies. Tracks maintenance repairs throughout property and conducts daily/weekly building walkthroughs. Responsible for submitting purchase requests to ensure timely re-stocking of necessary cleaning and maintenance supplies. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Semi-skilled in basic maintenance trades: 3 years (Preferred) High School diploma or GED equivalent (Preferred) Good speaking and writing skills. Must be able to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders. Use strength to lift and transport items needed to perform the functions of the job, with the ability to lift 50 pounds independently and support team lift with reasonable accommodations.
