Job Title : Dog Hiking Adventure Leader This position involves: 1) Using your own vehicle to pick up dogs at their homes and leading them on 3-6 mile off-leash group hikes on designated trails in Boulder County. General Accountabilities: •Transports groups of dogs between their homes and designated trails using employee's personal vehicle. •Manages groups of 2 - 5 off leash dogs for 1 - 2 hour hikes in all weather conditions. •Follows the rules of the City of Boulder Voice and Sight program and our commercial use permit. •Documents adventure details and relevant concerns after each hike via our mobile app. •Takes photos during each hike and includes them in post hike report. •Reinforces dog' good behavior/trail etiquette using only positive reinforcement training methods. •Provides affection, enrichment, and individual attention to clients' dogs Job Qualifications: •Able to make at least a 6-month commitment of at least three mid day (10am - 3pm) weekdays per week. •Experience: The ideal candidate is an avid hiker/walker/runner with dog handling experience, is familiar with the City of Boulder Voice and Sight program, and has excellent client service skills. •Passes a criminal background check and reference check •If not already, becomes registered with and has good working knowledge of the City of Boulder Voice and Sight program •Enjoys and has proper gear for hiking in year-round weather conditions. •Is a resident of the City of Boulder. •Owns a reliable, rugged, 4WD/AWD vehicle suitable for driving groups of dogs to/from trails. •Owns a smart phone with a cellular data plan. •Becomes K9 First Aid/CPR certified (at our expense). •Will undergo at least two weeks of hands on and online training. Compensation: •Town Adventures - ~$30 for 2 hour outings •Mountain Adventures - ~$75 for 4 hour outings Classified as W2 employee. Potential for annual pay raises.
