Gateway Marina in Highlands NJ is seeking a highly motivated yard worker to join our family. Prior marina/ boating experience preferred but not required, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the marine industry to become a technician or forklift operator. This will be a full time, year-round position with advancement opportunities for qualified individuals. Job requirements: Ideal candidates will have experience operating boats, heavy machinery (primarily forklifts) and possess a strong mechanical aptitude. Applicants must be able to work safely in a hazardous environment. This position requires the ability to take direction as well as display critical thinking and good judgement. Working well with others is critical to success at this position! Heavy lifting, as well as working outdoors in all weather conditions will be required. Gateway is a family friendly marina and candidates must be able to positively represent the marina while interacting with our customers in both personality and appearance. This position requires work on weekends and holidays. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. Applicants may be drug tested before hire. Benefits are available after 6 months. Compensation offered will be based upon experience. Position available immediately. Duties include: Assisting the forklift operator with launch and recovery of customers boats, Cleaning, waxing, bottom painting, shrink wrapping and power washing of boats.
