Job Type: • Full-time, hourly non-exempt position with year-round work! • Work day is 7:30am – 6pm (generally) • Work week is generally (4) 10-hour days Monday-Thursday, with flexibility for work on Friday if needed based on weather or specific project demands • Weekend work is occasional and made available to employees who want overtime hours Job Requirements / Description • Mowing and maintenance of various type of turf and terrain using all types of mowers (walk-behind and riding). Must be able to perform minor maintenance tasks on equipment including checking oil, air filters, gas/diesel fill-up • Weeding (manually if needed and with weed eaters), edging of turf, beds, trails and other transitional terrains • Pruning trees, plants/shrubs, flowers using gas shears, loppers or chainsaws or other small hand-held pruning tools • Installing mulch and pine straw • Application of fertilizers and use of backpack sprayers to apply herbicides • Clean-up of leaves, twigs, branches, and other debris on job sites as needed • Maintenance of pet stations on job properties • Proper and safe use of hand-held tools and equipment including shovels, weed-eaters, sprayers, and other small hand tools used for landscape maintenance • Watering of installed plant and turf material as needed • Preferred experience driving commercial pick-up trucks with attached trailers and dump trucks, and performing minor maintenance of vehicles including checking oil and fluids • Position requires walking, standing, reaching, bending over, and repetitive lifting items like tools, equipment and plant material and landscape maintenance supplies. Position requires continuous physical activity typical of outdoor landscape maintenance services including but not limited to digging, shoveling, racking, weeding, planting, trimming/pruning plants etc on varied types of terrain • Must enjoy working outdoors year-round in North Carolina climate • Work on crew team of 2-3 people, and must take direction from Crew Lead • Takes prides in work and executes quality landscape installation services • Follow all work safety guidelines and procedures • Professional uniform, safety bag and job tools provided Requirements • Some experience in landscape maintenance services including mowing, weeding, fertilizing and application of pesticides, herbicides and fungicides is preferred but not required • Some experience in landscape installation (handling, transporting and installing trees, plants, shrubs, turf/sod and seed) in North Carolina is preferred but not required • Valid NC Driver License is preferred but not required • NC Pesticide License or ability to obtain one is preferred but not required • English proficiency is preferred but not required. Spanish speaking candidates are also welcome, we have a large number of Spanish speaking workers. • Reliable transportation to/from work
