Heart’s Companion Pet Memorial Center, we are a fast-growing Pet Memorial Center centrally located in Reno, NV. Our mission is to provide an authentic and transparent experience for pet parents grieving the loss of their pet companions. We are seeking a like-minded crematory operator who strives to honor the human-animal bond by performing cremation services with integrity, dignity, and respect. Qualified candidates must be compassionate and comfortable working with cremation equipment, deceased pets, and cremated remains. Position is full-time, hourly rate, fixed schedule. Responsibilities and Duties • Prepare and complete all cremation paperwork in adherence to electronic tracking system standards. • Adhere to company uniform and professional standards at all times. • Cremate all eligible pets in a timely manner. • Maintain and operate all aspects of the crematorium. • Follow provided company standard practices, policies and procedures. • Adhere to all workplace safety policies, compliances and regulations. • Maintain thorough records for a smooth cremation process from beginning to end. • Participate in training and cross training, improvement initiatives including health and safety and quality improvement. • Additional duties as assigned. Desired Experience and Qualities • Customer Service background is desirable. • Self-motivated with excellent time management. • Detail-oriented - focus on completing assigned task in a competent and thorough manner. • Possess a high level of integrity, ethics and compassion for care of deceased pets. • Must be familiar with basic technological equipment. • Strive for continuing to improve our processes and procedures while maintaining a customer-focused perspective; communicate in a solution-oriented way. • High School diploma or equivalent. • Ability to lift approximately 100+lbs., and be able to bend, twist as needed throughout shift. • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background check including drug test and physical screening. • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment • Experience in the death care industry a plus, but not required. Work Conditions The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud with exposure to hot surfaces and temperatures, chemicals, and dust; proper PPE must always be worn and adherence to safety procedures and protocols. This position is highly physical including exposure to pet bodily fluids and cremated remains. Due to the nature of this business, please no calls or walk in inquiries regarding this position.
