The San Diego Turtle & Tortoise Society has SEVERAL California desert tortoises (our official state reptile) that are waking up from their long winters nap (hibernation). If you have a minimum 15'x15' grassy area that you could dedicate to one of these marvelous, low maintenance pets, please contact me after reading the caresheet on our website, sdturtle.org I must see pictures of your yard/enclosure before adoption will be considered. As always there is never an adoption fee but you must educate yourself about their needs. Please note: Male desert tortoises cannot be kept together as they more often than not fight with each other. It is illegal to breed desert tortoises or to buy, sell or trade them for profit. Ad will be removed once they've all found good homes We also currently have available for adoption; Russians, box turtles, red eared sliders
