Need help with an air cooled car

Hi I have a 1972 Porsche 914 with a 74 2.0 motor. My mechanic (who restored the car) has passed away. When the car wouldn’t idle properly the last thing he said was the “get a new carburetor” I did and installed it. Now however I can’t adjust it and I’m in over my head mechanically and need help. Not looking for a “race car” or anything just so it starts and runs, it’s my Sunday take the top off and or do the occasional car show. If you have air cooled experience, doesn’t have to be with Porsche’s it’s essential a VW bug engine and can help or can suggest someone that would be awesome! I’m in Bridgewater on Nimitz St. Thanks
