Kimmerjae, Jon Stubbs and Kent McLagan perform at East Simpson Coffee Company The three of us are longtime friends and occasional musical collaborators, sharing a love of refreshing sound and the joy of ensemble work. It's wonderful to get together again for this concert, after a long break for no particular reason. Jon Stubbs has known Kimmerjae for more years than he's not known her. He plays a few instruments but, you know, one-at-a-time. He loves playing and teaching, and has a soft spot in his heart for all the animals of Earth. Kimmerjae Macarus here. I started writing songs the day I picked up the guitar at 16, playing into the wee hours after studying art all day, while an extremely tolerant roommate slept. I had some big aims for the songs back then. Nowadays they take me on their own unique adventures. I hope you enjoy the ride and views! Kent McLagan Kent lives and works in Denver making string basses. He performs occasionally, mostly in the contexts of modern jazz and improvised music.
