MILWAUKEE, WI—Milwaukee activist Khalil Coleman was arrested on Feb. 15 in Kentucky on charges of second-degree robbery and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, according to a report first posted by Wisconsin Right Now.
Patch reached out to Elsmere Police but haven't heard back as of Thursday afternoon.
Coleman was one of three people arrested.
In the Wisconsing Right Now report, Elsmere Police Chief Joe Maier said the group attempted to rob a drug house. One of the three people went up to the house with a gun and when it didn't work out they got into a car, the report said. However, as they were leaving they got boxed in by a snow plow and police stopped them.
Two handguns and material suspected to be heroin and marijuana were found in the car, the report said.
According to online Kentucky court records, Coleman had a preliminary hearing on Thursday afternoon.
During the summer in Milwaukee, Coleman was involved in many protests around the Milwaukee area in the wake of George Floyd's death. Coleman is a leader of the Peoples Revolution group in Milwaukee.
