Wisconsin High Schools Mull Negative Virus Test As Prom Caveat

METRO MILWAUKEE, WI — Wisconsin students are back in schools, prompting some districts to move forward with traditional, in-person proms. That decision, however, may come with one condition. To get in the door, students may need to provide proof of a negative coronavirus test. Brookfield Central High School is one area school implementing the requirement. Principal Brett Gruetzmacher told WISN all students and chaperones will be required to take a rapid antigen test the morning of prom. "We'll have the results in minutes," he told WISN. While other schools aren't requiring a test, many are opting to eliminate dancing. West Allis, Milwaukee and Arrowhead high schools are among those taking a more spaced-out approach.
