Missing Girl, Stolen SUV Found After Renton AMBER Alert

RENTON, WA — A 5-year-old girl was found safe and reunited with her family Wednesday after she was abducted during a car theft in a downtown Safeway parking lot, according to Renton police. An AMBER Alert was issued just before 2 p.m., about an hour after an unidentified man stole a gray Toyota SUV with the young girl inside, according to a police timeline. A Renton police spokesperson confirmed the child and vehicle were located just after 2:20 p.m. thanks to a customer at a nearby business who noticed a child crying inside the SUV.
