RENTON, WA — The Washington State Patrol activated a silver alert late Wednesday afternoon, hoping to locate a man last seen Tuesday. According to the alert Dale Sanders, 86, suffers from dementia and left his medications behind. Investigators believe he may be headed to California in his red Toyota Camry. A couple of hours later, a family member discovered his Camry missing from the driveway and later learned he had withdrawn money from the bank. Police said the relative believed Dale was headed south, and possibly toward Northern California, along Interstate 5. Attempts to reach his cell phone have been unsuccessful. "Dale has been diagnosed as having dementia and some medical needs that may require attention soon," police said. "Family members are very concerned about his physical and mental welfare and would like to locate him as soon as possible. Anyone who sees Sanders or the vehicle described should report immediately via 911 and reference the Renton case, police said.
