PIERCE COUNTY, WA — The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department's next pop-up vaccine clinic will be in University Place early next week. Update: slots for the clinic have filled. Make sure you're following us on social media and keep an eye on our website for more opportunities.— Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department (@TPCHD) March 12, 2021 Thursday the health department announced they'd be hosting a vaccine clinic on Tuesday, March 16. Unlike the other upcoming clinic in Graham, this clinic will not be offering the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Instead, TPCHD says it will be using the Moderna vaccine, which requires a second dose a few weeks apart. Registration for the clinic will open at 10 a.m. Friday. When it does, a link to apply will be posted on the health department's website at http://tpchd.org/vaxtothefuture. Anyone who wants a shot at this clinic will need to act quickly: the last few clinics have filled up in just minutes. As with other TPCHD vaccination clinics, to qualify for a shot you should work or live in Pierce County. Applicants must also be in Phases 1A or 1B1 of the state's vaccination plan. That includes: Health care workers.Medical first responders.Teachers and school support staff.Residents and staff of long-term care facilities.Anyone 65 and older.Residents 50 or older and who live in a multigenerational household.
