Growing Bay Area general contractor specializing in multi-family repair has an opening for a Painting Manager. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits. We are looking for a Manager who is positive, organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and current on technology and best practices in the painting industry. Duties: • Manage a team of employees and subs, including work schedules, project progress, and resource allocation. • Review sales files for compliance with company standards, pricing and scope of work. • Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials, and other project costs. • Collaborate with clients, Sales Department, other construction management to confirm budget and timeline. • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers. • Create schedules for workers and subcontractors and contact customers to confirm schedules of projects. • Problem-solving to address delays, emergencies, or other issues. • Comply with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements. • Report progress to clients and sales team on a daily basis. • Maintain a daily log for the job site's operations, reporting to management as necessary. • Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines. • Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient. • Ensure that Lead paint and Covid-19 protocol are followed on applicable projects. Job Requirements: • Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking, and active listening. • Able to produce high-quality projects on time, on budget and safely. • Good planning skills, including scope of work execution, resource allocation, and contingencies. • Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues. • In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations. • Previous experience bidding commercial painting jobs required. • Create paint estimates that are accurate and profitable • Review and understand plans/specifications • Quantity survey of all items on the project • Perform site surveys to ensure accuracy • Prepare accurate quantity take offs and material pricing • Determine labor and equipment costs • Assist Project Manager and jobsite staff with estimates after bid award Minimum Skills/Experience Required: • 5 years construction estimating experience • 2 years commercial painting estimating experience • Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings • Ability to make accurate calculations • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Knowledge • General computer skills: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe PDF Salary/Benefits: • Salary DOE • Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance • 401K w/matching • Vacation
