Over 94,700 COVID-19 Vaccines Given In Prince William County Area

What's Up Prince William March 09, 2021 Health professionals are continuing to provide COVID-19 vaccines to community members. More than 94,700 vaccines had been administered in the Prince William Health District (PWHD) by Monday, according to an update from the Joint Information Center. Over 7,000 initial doses and more than 6,600 second doses were given last week. They are being provided by the Prince William Health District (PWHD), hospitals, medical and health care providers, and long term care facilities. The three COVID-19 vaccines available are Johnson and Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer. PWHD administers the Moderna vaccine, with many partners providing the Pfizer vaccine, according to another update. Johnson & Johnson, which was recently authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is one dose. It is 85 percent effective at fending off serious illness and offers almost total protection against hospital visits and death.
