Hunter Mill Town Hall Planned On 2022 Budget Proposal

VIENNA, VA — After Fairfax County Executive Bryan Hill presented his fiscal year 2022 budget proposal, a Hunter Mill town hall meeting on the budget will be held in late March. The Hunter Mill District budget town hall will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 29 to discuss the county and school district budget. Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter Alcorn, Hunter Mill District school representative Melanie Meren, and director of the county's Department of Management and Budget Christina Jackson will participate. The meeting will include presentations on the budgets and a chance to ask questions. The town hall will be held through Webex and YouTube Live. The proposed county budget calls for a one-cent real estate tax cut, which would make the real estate tax rate $1.14 per $100 of assessed value. But based on increased property assessment values, the average real estate tax bill could go up by $224. The Board of Supervisors will hold public hearings on April 13 to 15, mark-up of the budget on April 27, and adoption on May 4.
