Homicide Detectives Seek Answers In Reston Shooting

RESTON, VA — Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department's Major Crimes Bureau were knocking on doors in Reston Wednesday seeking information about a recent fatal shooting in the area, according to a post on FCPD's Twitter account. On March 11, officers responded to the report of gunshots in the 2200 block of Winterthur Court. They found 40-year-old Santos Antonio Trejo at the entrance of an apartment building, suffering from a gunshot wound. Rescue personnel pronounced Trejo dead on the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later performed an autopsy and ruled Trejo's death a homicide. A woman also received non-life-threatening injuries at the scene, according to police. Police ask anyone with information about this shooting or this incident to call the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 2.
