McLean Town Halls Planned On 2022 Fairfax County Budget Proposal

MCLEAN, VA — After Fairfax County Executive Bryan Hill presented his fiscal year 2022 budget proposal on Tuesday, McLean budget town halls will be held on March 1 and March 22. The first meeting is a virtual town hall held by the McLean Citizens Association at from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 1. Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust and Fairfax County Chief Financial Officer Joe Mondoro will participate. Residents can learn about the budget proposal, ask questions and give feedback. The meeting will be held on Zoom and livestreamed on Facebook. The March 22 meeting will be the Dranesville District Budget Town Hall held by Foust. The meeting will be available to view on Channel 16 (Cox Channel 1016; Verizon/Comcast Channel 16) and online through livestreaming. The proposed county budget calls for a one-cent real estate tax cut, which would make the real estate tax rate $1.14 per $100 of assessed value. But based on increased property assessment values, the average real estate tax bill could go up by $224. The Board of Supervisors will hold public hearings on April 13 to 15, mark-up of the budget on April 27, and adoption on May 4.
