HERNDON, VA — Two Herndon brothers have been arrested in connection with a homicide that took place last November in the town, according to the Herndon Police Department's weekly crime report. Around 2:25 p.m., on Nov. 25, officers responded for the reports of shots being fired in the 1000 block of Queens Court. The officers found Julian Rashad Martin, 30, of Reston lying in the road and suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to Reston Hospital but later died from his injuries. Detectives quickly identified Jason Bryd, 20, of Herndon as a suspect in the case and took him into custody at his home with the assistance of the Fairfax County Police Department's Special Operations Division. Byrd was charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Police recently arrested Bryd's brother, 20-year-old Jameel Bryd of Herndon, and charged him as an accessory for second-degree murder and robbery. Police transported Jameel Bryd to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where is being held without bond. This case remains under investigation. Between March 15-21, Town of Herndon police officers issued 68 traffic summonses, including two for driving while intoxicated, seven for driving with no operator's license, and two for driving on a suspended or revoked license.
