FREDERICKSBURG, VA —The Rappahannock Area Health District began vaccinating people in Phase 1c last week. The health district, which covers Fredericksburg, Stafford County, King George County, Caroline County, and Spotsylvania County, has now vaccinated more than 89,000 people. The Rappahannock Area Health District is the eleventh in the state to move to Phase 1c of the state's vaccine rollout plan. Phase 1c includes energy workers, waste removal workers, legal services workers, members of the media, and barbers. A full list of priority groups for Phase 1c is available online. "We are excited about the progress we have made in vaccinations in our community so far," said Dr. Denise Bonds, the acting director of the Rappahannock Area Health District. "We look forward to expanding vaccination opportunities to more of the essential workers who have beenwaiting their turn." The Rappahannock Area Health District is still hosting vaccination clinics once a week in each of its localities, according to their website. Here is the schedule, according to the health district: Mondays- Caroline CountyTuesdays- City of FredericksburgWednesdays- Spotsylvania CountyThursdays- Stafford CountyFridays- King George County Currently, all vaccinations through the health district are by appointment only. No walk-ins will be accepted. Across the health district, more than 89,000 people have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to data published on the Virginia Department of Health's website. 50,903 people have been fully vaccinated. To register for the vaccine, residents should sign up for the state's preregistration list. Anyone can preregister for the vaccine, regardless of their current eligibility. The Rappahannock Area Health District pulls from the state's list to schedule vaccine appointments. People without internet access can call the state's vaccine hotline at 877-829-4682.
