STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A Fredericksburg man was arrested twice in 12 hours and charged with driving under the influence. The man, Travis Baker, was arrested on Monday night and Tuesday morning, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
On Monday night, a Stafford County deputy responded to an accident where one car sideswiped another. The deputy arrested Baker on the scene and charged him with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, and driving on a suspended license, according to police reports.
Baker was released on bond at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, police said.
At 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, a Stafford County deputy observed a box truck crashed in the woods near the 900 block of Mountain View Drive. The deputy found Baker with the vehicle, according to police. The deputy noticed that Baker's speech was slurred and administered field sobriety tests.
The deputy also searched the crashed truck and found a controlled substance, plastic baggies, and digital scales, police said. Baker was arrested, again, for driving under the influence-second offense, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, and driving on a suspended license.
Baker is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
