FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Fredericksburg woman was arrested on Tuesday and charged with running over a man with her car. The woman, Jennifer St. John, is also charged with attacking the man's truck with a baseball bat, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. At 10 p.m. on March 6, authorities responded to the Leeland Commuter Lot to assist a man who was hit by a car. The man was suffering from "a severe leg injury," according to a release from the sheriff's office. The victim told police that he had arranged to meet with St. John at the cul-de-sac on Granville Drive in Stafford. The victim arrived before St. John, who parked her car behind the victim's truck, according to the police report. Shortly after she arrived, St. John left her car and began hitting the victim's truck with a baseball bat, police said. When the victim got out of his truck to confront St. John, she ran back to her car. St. John then pulled out from behind the victim's truck, and began to drive directly at him, authorities said. The victim attempted to jump out of the way of the oncoming vehicle and fell to the ground. The Sheriff's Office said St. John then ran over the victim's legs and drove away in her car. The victim managed to drive himself to the nearby Leeland Commuter Lot, where he called for help. An ambulance took the injured man to a nearby hospital. Authorities did not comment on the victim's condition. Authorities were able to locate and arrest St. John on Tuesday. She is charged with malicious wounding and destruction of property. She is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
