Man Undressed In Street, Charged With Assaulting Officers: Police

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A Fredericksburg man is in jail after police said he undressed himself in the street and resisted the officers who tried to arrest him. The man, Dwaine Parker, was arrested near Greenbank Road in Stafford on Sunday evening. At 8 p.m. on Sunday, Stafford County deputies received reports of a man behaving erratically and undressing himself in the street, according to a release from the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. When deputies arrived on the scene, Parker fled into the nearby woods. Eventually, deputies were able to catch up to him, authorities said. However, when they tried to handcuff Parker and place him under arrest, he began to resist. After he was handcuffed, the suspect refused to walk to the police car and had to be carried out of the woods. Parker continued to resist as deputies attempted to place him into the police car, according to the release. He kicked deputies several times as they attempted to place him into the car. The man also spat at deputies, according to police. After Parker was placed in the vehicle, he continued to act erratically. Police said he kicked and headbutted the car's back window. Parker is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail. He is charged with ten counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, two counts of obstruction of justice, one count of indecent exposure, and one count of public intoxication.
