Description

FAIRFAX STATION, VA — Cal, a 7-year-old retriever/lab mix, is a good boy who has found his Zen moving into an adult only home! His foster mom reports that he is a big fan of yoga moves — a down dog and up dog pro — pets, and long walks. He's great in a car, and took a big snooze this weekend after a long hike. Cal's foster mom says he is a very speedy learner. Cal is a sweet and handsome boy who was adopted from Homeward Trails Animal Rescue at 8-weeks old. He lived in the home for seven years but sadly had to be surrendered due to not being comfortable with the 4-year-old in the home. Due to this Cal needs an adult only home. Since being in his foster home, his fosters have found him a handsome, loving, well-behaved boy. He loves going on walks and has been great on a leash (quickly learning to walk my pace without pulling). He has been a great houseguest, very well-mannered. He doesn't go on the furniture or beg for food, and is generally quite quiet with the occasional "woof" if he hears something. Cal is a part of the Go Fetch program, so his adoption fee is waved. Homeward Trails Animal Rescue adopts pets to homes in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland. Anyone interested in our animals can complete an adoption questionnaire. We work with applicants to ensure a good match between them and the pet and vice versa, the adoption questionnaire is how we start the adoption discussion. Most of our animals are in foster homes in the area. Others are available to meet by appointment at our Adoption Center.
