NEW HYDE PARK, NY — Four people were injured in after the driver of a Nassau Inter-County Express bus they were riding in hit the vehicle's brakes to avoid a collision in New Hyde Park on Wednesday, Nassau County police said. The bus was cut off by a car at the intersection of New Hyde Park Road and Jericho Turnpike just before 8:30 a.m., police said, adding that the two vehicles did not make contact. Three people were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment, but one refused medical attention at the scene, police said. Emergency medical technicians from Nassau's police ambulance unit, as well as the New Hyde Park Fire Department responded, police said.
