SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — The Department of Health in Sarasota County warns residents of an increase in coronavirus vaccination scams throughout the county and Florida. The DOH-Sarasota will never contact people asking them to pay for vaccines or requesting that they confirm financial information for COVID-19 vaccines, the county said in a news release. Those who have received a phone call or email claiming to be the DOH and asking them to complete a survey about vaccine clinics and operations should take caution, the county said. To provide feedback, individuals can scan a QR code inside the first-dose vaccine clinic at Sarasota Square Mall, the county said. DOH emails for vaccine appointment email notices/confirmations will come from [email protected] and always have a DOH logo. Any text alerts from DOH will come from will 888-777 and phone calls will come from 941-861-8297, the county said. Individuals who are registered with multiple counties or retail vaccination clinics are encouraged to pay close attention to the location and organization listed on the appointment notice. Adults 18 and older can pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine through Sarasota County's updated Everbridge registration system online here. People can also register by calling 941-861-VAXS (8297).
