LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — The Loudoun County Health Department is now vaccinating people who registered for the waitlist on March 9. Last week, 1,910 people in the county registered for the coronavirus vaccine, raising the total number of people on the waitlist to 102,025. Before last week, the health department was vaccinating people who registered on Feb. 12. The health department vaccinated more than 11,000 people last week, according to their daily updates. "The waitlist continues to grow daily as more individuals pre-register," the health department said. Loudoun County uses the state's coronavirus vaccine waitlist. All Virginia residents can sign up for the waitlist. The health department is now vaccinating all priority groups in Phase 1b, including grocery workers, mail carriers, and clergy workers. A full list of people eligible for the vaccine in Phase 1b is available online from the Virginia Department of Health. In their most recent update, the health department also encouraged pregnant people who receive the vaccine to participate in the CDC's registry. The v-safe COVID-19 Vaccine Pregnancy Registry uses text messaging to check in with pregnant people after they receive their vaccine. The CDC will use the data it collects to analyze how the coronavirus vaccination affects pregnant people. More than 3,000 people have enrolled in the program so far, according to the CDC.
