Ravens Player Faces Destruction Of Property Charges In VA

ARLINGTON, VA — Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Broderick Washington Jr. was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with multiple counts of destruction of property for breaking into cars at a residential building, according to the daily crime report. Arlington County Police responded around 4:20 a.m., to the 2300 block of S. 24th Road, for the report of a man breaking into vehicles with a metal object. Officers located Washington, who matched the description given by those who contacted police. Officers took him into custody without incident. A preliminary investigation revealed that five vehicles had been damaged and the entry door and window to the building were destroyed, according to police. ACPD charged Washington with five counts of misdemeanor destruction of property, felony destruction of property, and tampering with a vehicle. He was later released on bond. Washington, a 24-year-old defenseman who played at Texas Tech, was a fifth-round draft choice by the Ravens in 2020. "We are aware of the matter involving Broderick Washington. We have spoken with Broderick about this matter and will continue to monitor the situation," the team said in a statement, according to ARLNow.
