NOTTINGHAM, MD — A man was charged with attempted first-degree murder and other offenses in connection with a crime in Nottingham this week, officials said. His victim was injured, police reported. Michael Smith, 27, assaulted another man with a knife before 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the unit block of Beyda Court, according to police. The 27-year-old victim was hospitalized, while Smith was arrested at the scene, officials said. Smith, who lives in the unit block of Beyda Court, was charged with the following: Attempted first-degree murderAttempted second-degree murderFirst-degree assaultSecond-degree assaultUsing a dangerous weapon with intent to injure Smith is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail, court records show, following a bail review hearing Monday, March 29, in Baltimore County District Court.
