Press release from the City of Irving: March 24, 2021 Irving's Herstory Series Features Joyce Pittman In honor of Women's History Month, the City of Irving features the first woman to serve on Irving City Council, Joyce Pittman. Her sense of civic duty and contributions to the community helped shape Irving for years to come. Pittman served on several committees during her tenure on the council, and later worked to promote Irving and the region to organizations across the country and the world. While a member of council, she worked passionately on the building of the current City Hall at 825 W. Irving Blvd., where her personal touches on the building can still be seen today.
