ANNAPOLIS, MD — Annapolis establishments are preparing for this Sunday's Easter holiday. Restaurants have special deals. Businesses tout festive shopping and discounts. Cultural sites offer family events. Patch partners with several local organizations to bring you their latest news. This guest contribution comes from the Downtown Annapolis Partnership and the Annapolis Arts District. Here's what Executive Director Erik Evans wrote about Easter happenings: "Easter weekend gives us a long weekend to get out and enjoy the early spring days in Annapolis. Several stores in downtown Annapolis are hosting an Easter Shopping Event through Thursday, April 1st ... Blanca Flor Silver Jewelry, Hobo, Lilac Bijoux, The Lucky Knot, Mango + Main, Rasa Juice Shop, Seasons Olive Oil and Vinegar Taproom, Wheat, and Alpaca International will have free chocolate that will be at the checkout or hidden throughout the store. Each chocolate will have a name of a participating store that will offer you a shopping discount. It might be a discount for the store you are in or one of the other participating stores. For sweets, there are several options for those looking for fresh fudge and chocolates including Kilwins and Uncle Bob's Fudge Kitchen. The new Curate pastry, coffee shop & wine bar in the Annapolis Arts District has decadent pastries or you can go healthy and visit Rasa Juice Shop on Maryland Avenue. Another unique option for filling the Easter basket is making a visit to Irish Traditions and shopping in their food department. It is filled with unique sweets from Ireland. This week leading up to Easter Sunday, families can book a private Easter Egg Hunt at the Hammond-Harwood House! This experience will include a hunt for wooden Easter eggs in the garden of the mansion. Families will have the opportunity to paint and keep the wooden eggs using pictures of collection items with animal designs for inspiration. This event requires preregistration. Mission Escape Rooms is offering escape room vouchers for your Easter basket at 15% off through April 3rd when you use the promo code EASTER21, or 20% off if you book an escape room for Sunday, April 4th using the promo code SUNDAY21. Rooms can be booked online or in-person. Wine & Design is offering paint classes this weekend with an Easter and spring theme. At the end of the art class, you have a new piece of artwork for your home. In the studio on Friday at 6:30 pm the artwork is He is Risen and on Saturday at 1:30 pm the artwork is Mommy & Me and Bunny & Chick and at 6:30 pm [the artwork is] Maryland Home. On Sunday there is a virtual class at 7 pm [to paint] His Eye is on the Sparrow. You can preregister for the classes online. For those not wishing to cook[,] Iron Rooster is offering an Easter Brunch To-Go for those that pre-order by 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 1st. Ruth's Chris Steak House is offering an Easter brunch and dinner. They are also offering curbside pickup for a brunch package, a champagne package, and a dinner package. Pre-orders for curbside pickup of Easter day meals should be placed by Saturday. [Buddy's Crabs & Ribs] is offering three different weekend specials including ribs and crab cakes for two that includes, salad, sides, and soup for $55, a family feast for two that includes crab legs, crab cakes, shrimp, salad, sides, and soup for $105, and the Marylander special that includes, crabs, crab cakes, crab dip, shrimp, salad, sides, and soup for $135. St. Anne's Episcopal Church in the heart of downtown Annapolis is offering many in-person, outdoor, & live-streamed services for Easter & Holy Week. Visit their website for more information. If you just need to get out and take a stroll, downtown Annapolis has three ice cream shops including the Annapolis Ice Cream Company and Kilwins that are the perfect places for when you need a refreshing break. Shops, restaurants, and accommodations throughout downtown Annapolis and the Annapolis Arts District are open and following current safety guidelines.
