AUSTIN, TX — A downtown Austin eatery is kicking off National Puppy Day with a dog-themed event to help benefit dog-related charities in the area.
Trace Patio, located on 200 Lavaca Street in downtown Austin, will host Pups on the Trace Patio from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to celebrate the national event.
National Puppy Day, which is observed each year on March 23, celebrates the unconditional love and affection puppies bring to our lives, according to the national day calendar website.

(Photo contributed by Trace Patio) The downtown event will feature dog-themed cocktail specials like the Greyhound, Salty Dog, Pomeranian Passion or Lavaca Labradoodle. Pups can also enjoy a specialty dog treat made just for them by the restaurant's chef Manuel Rodriguez.
A portion of the proceeds from the pup specials will benefit Emancipet, a non-profit organization providing low-cost veterinary care in Pflugerville, officials said.

"We are proud to partner with Emancipet on this fun event and support the wonderful work they do for Austin's dog-loving community."
