AUSTIN, TX — Austin police are seeking information on suspects who may be involved in a shots fire incident Friday in North Austin. Senior officer Demitri Hobbs, a spokesperson for Austin Police, told reporters Friday afternoon that officials received a call at 1:24 p.m. Friday for a possible active shooter in the 10600 block of North Lamar Boulevard at Marketplace Austin. FINAL 10600blk N Lamar Blvd: @Austin_Police have cleared the area with no victims located. #ATCEMSMedics are evaluating 1 person with non-specific medical complaint. #ATCEMS resources will be clearing the scene shortly. Refer any additional inquiries to APD.— ATCEMS (@ATCEMS) March 12, 2021 Austin-Travis County EMS was the first to respond to the scene and discovered it was not an active shooter situation. The suspects had already left the scene, Hobbs said. Hobbs said shots were fired at the scene. There were no injuries. At 3:30 p.m., detectives were at the scene to discover what may have happened and who was involved. At this time, there are no details on the suspects or the vehicles they may have left in. Hobbs said detectives are encouraging the community who may have information on the incident to contact police. The investigation is ongoing.
