AUSTIN, TX — Austin police are looking for a suspect who fatally shot a man at his home in South Austin Thursday afternoon. Police said the shooter, who is believed to be a man in his 20's, knocked on the door of a resident, a man who was also in his 20's, in the 1100 block of Kenyon Drive. After about a five-minute conversation at the door, the shooter opened fire, seriously injuring the man, authorities said. Officers were called to the area around 12:18 p.m. Thursday. Ten minutes after arriving, officials pronounced the resident dead at the scene. The man's identity has yet to be released. Officer Kevin Krzan, a police spokesman, told reporters Thursday afternoon the conversation was not heated and the shooter left the area in a car after the incident. Krzan said authorities are not yet releasing details about the shooter's vehicle, and added that officers are still in the early stages of their investigation. There is no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities said anyone with information about the case can call Austin police at 512-974-8477.
