AUSTIN, TX — Travis County Sheriff's Office is investigating after the body of a Washington man was discovered at an Austin recycling center Wednesday.
Silas Octavia Strimple, 18, was found dead at the Balcones Recycling Center at Johnny Morris Road around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff's office said Thursday.
The department said deputies were called to the scene after workers found the man's body on a conveyer belt. Investigators are seeking answers for the man's cause of death and how his body ultimately ended up at the recycling center.
Authorities said evidence at the scene shows no signs of foul play, but due to the nature of where the body was discovered, the death is considered suspicious.
The sheriff's office asks anyone with information about Strimple and his whereabouts in the days leading up to Wednesday to contact the TCSO tip line at 512-854-1444.
