AUSTIN, TX — Austin police are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect who fatally shot a man at his home in South Austin Thursday.
Police said a thin man in his mid-20's wearing a dark hoodie shot and killed 23-year-old Garrett Gamond-Hill at his home in the 1100 block of Kenyon Drive Thursday afternoon.
Officers said they received a 9-1-1 call around 12:18 p.m. for shots fired in the South Austin neighborhood. When police arrived, they discovered Gamond-Hill had been shot.

Austin-Travis County EMS attempted life-saving measuring on the man, but the 23-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:27 p.m., authorities said.
Police said on-scene witnesses saw the suspect ring the doorbell to Gamond-Hill's home. When Gamond-Hill answered the door, the two had a brief conversation before the man shot him.
Authorities said the man wearing a dark hoodie was last seen fleeing the area in a black sedan-style car.
The Travis County Medical Examiner will be conducting an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of Gamond-Hill's death.
