AUSTIN, TX — Austin police are investigating the death of a man who was shot and killed in North Austin on Sunday, news outlets report.
Police said officers received a call around 11:35 a.m. Sunday for a man that had been shot just southwest of the intersection of Braker Lane and the Interstate 35 frontage road, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
The newspaper reports when officers arrived to the scene they found a man who had appeared to have been shot. The man later died after being taken to the hospital.
Authorities said police are in the early stages of the investigation into the death, which investigators are treating as suspicious.
The news outlet reports police do not have any information on what the shooter looked like, or how they left the area after the incident. Officers do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
