AUSTIN, TX — Austin police are seeking the public's help to identify a shooter who shot and killed a man and wounded a woman last week in Northwest Austin.
Police said a man wearing a black jacket and black pants fled northbound after a shooting that took place in an apartment unit March 22 at 11901 Pavilion Boulevard.
When officers and Austin-Travis County EMS arrived at the scene, they found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds, officials said.
EMS tried to save the man's life, but he died at the scene. The man was later identified as Patrick Renda.
Authorities said the woman was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released.
Officials said nearby residents reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a suspect flee northbound on foot through the parking lot immediately following the incident.
The Travis County Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and confirmed that Renda's cause of death was due to gunshot wounds and the manner was labeled a homicide.
Authorities said the motive for the shooting appears to be drug related. This incident marks the 16th homicide to take place in Austin in 2021.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
