Woman Found Dead In Northwest Austin Apartment Complex: Police

AUSTIN, TX — A woman was found dead at an apartment complex in northwest Austin Wednesday morning, officials said. Austin Police Department told reporters in a news conference early Wednesday officers received calls on reports of gunshots and a disturbance around 3 a.m. at the Colonial Grand at Canyon Pointe Apartments in the 9700 block of Farm-to-Market Road 620. When officers arrived to the scene, they found a woman who had been shot within the apartment complex. She dead at the scene. Officers could not confirm where the woman's body was found and if she was a resident at the apartment complex. Police have not released a suspect description nor have they made any arrests yet.
