SAN FRANCISCO – San Francisco police have arrested a man in connection with a series of hate crimes at a local business. On Sunday just before 9:30 a.m., police officers from the Tenderloin Station responded to the 300 block of Golden Gate Avenue for reports of criminal threats. Police met with a 42-year-old Asian woman who told them an unknown suspect entered the business and threatened to shoot Chinese people, according to the police department. The woman said this was the third day in a row the suspect had entered the store and caused a disruption. According to police, the suspect ran away. On Tuesday just before 6 a.m., police responded to the same business after they had been notified that the suspect had returned. The victim said he used a hand gesture to mimic a gun and simulated shooting people inside the business. Police located the suspect, identified as Darrell Hunter, 45, and took him into custody. He was later charged with three counts of criminal threats, two counts of burglary, stalking, three hate crime enhancements and a probation violation. While an arrest has been made, San Francisco police continue to investigate the incidents.
