If you’re getting a rabbit for easter, please remember it is illegal in the state of NC to rehome/sell rabbits for anything other than meat purposes under 8 weeks of age. This is to protect the babies, and cause as less amount of stress as possible on them while they’re still young and sensitive. If someone tells you they’re “weaned already,” that may be true. But reputable breeders make sure their babies are thriving long before they decide to finally rehome. Someone here on CL is rehoming 6 week old Dutch and Lionheads for a quick $30 a pop, all to inexperienced and unsuspecting new families, just to set them up for babies not ready to handle a big change, or to get weaning enteritis.
