We all get stuck; the thing is some of us stay stuck. The good news, there’s almost always a solution even when you can’t see it. What if there was a place where people listened to your situation and then offered ideas and suggestions to help you get unstuck? Dreams are wonderful because they demonstrate that you have hope. But dreams also contain pesky things like obstacles that either slow you down or sometimes even make you want to give up on your dreams. One of the most common things that slow people down is that they don’t see their options. A fascinating aspect of life is that there are almost always options. Now you may not see all of your options and you many not even like all your options but they still remain options. Also intriguing is that it’s often easier to suggest ideas and possible options for others than it is for your self. George Orwell said it best, “The ability to see the opportunities in front of one’s nose is a constant struggle.” To that end I’m starting new group where every two weeks we’ll meet to listen, then brainstorm and offer ideas and suggestions to help each other move past whatever obstacles are slowing us down and/or keeping us from what we want.. One of the most powerful components of a group such as this is that it provides accountability. Yes accountability is scary because it not only reveals your level of commitment, but it forces you to do what you said you would do or, explain why you didn’t do what you said you would do. To allow everyone equal time to discuss whatever they want and receive feedback, the group needs to be limited to about a dozen people. We’ll meet on the Westside outdoors for now in the afternoon either on Saturday or Sunday. If what you’re doing is not working, it’s time to change what you’re doing.
