Description
Press release from SunLine Transit Agency:
March 31, 2021
SunLine Transit Agency is resuming school tripper services along routes that serve Desert Sands Unified School District (beginning Monday, March 29, 2021, when students are scheduled to return to on-campus learning) and to routes serving Palm Springs Unified School District according to when they resume in-person schooling. School trippers are buses that are added to certain routes to prevent overcrowding due to an increase in student ridership.
Fare-free rides will be offered until May 2, 2021. After this, Token Transit will be available again for contactless payment or paper tickets are available for purchase at pass outlet locations or online. Front door boarding will also resume at this time. Please note that school tripper schedules are subject to change based on school district bell schedules. The most up-to-date information will be available at SunLine.org/SchoolTripper, and students are encouraged to visit the website to see which school trippers are operating and available to them.
SunLine would like to remind riders to do their part to minimize the spread of COVID-19 by practicing social distancing onboard buses and at bus shelters, using the hand sanitizers that are available on each bus, wearing masks properly, and staying home when feeling unwell. SunLine Transit Agency continues to use strict sanitation processes and enforce mask protocol.
