JOLIET, IL — A Minnesota woman was arrested this week in Joliet after she accidentally punched a 3-year-old child in the face during a fight with another woman, police said. Ina King, 34, was booked into Will County jail Tuesday on charges of domestic battery and endangering the health or welfare of a child, jail records show. Joliet police said officers were called to a home in the 1000 block of Sudbury Drive around 1:20 p.m. after a disturbance was reported. While there, officers learned King was arguing with another adult woman when the disagreement escalated. King is suspected of attacking the woman, who was holding King's baby. During the skirmish, King struck the girl, injuring her face, authorities said. King is also accused of biting and scratching the adult woman, police said. King and her daughter were treated at Amita St Joseph Medical Center before the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services took custody of the baby and King's 5-year-old son. Jail records indicate King will make her first court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
