Experienced dog trainer help needed please

My dad passed in August. I adopted his 2 dogs. I also have 2 dogs and have had 30+ rescues during my adult life. They were introduced slow, and even though they made great progress, I kept it slow. The 2 females were fine, and toward the end of the 3rd week everybody was doing great together in the house. One night while home alone I made the stupid decision to let them out back to potty. Pappa and Jake got into it (I believe due to excitement). I knew better than get in there, tried everything I could to no avail. Called my bf but it took him over an hour to get home. They fought almost the whole time. I've introduced dogs, they have spats. This was brutal because they were so equally matched, as well as stressed. I want to give Jake one last try because I know they could get along, but all my experience is out the window. I'm terrified he might kill my baby. And my bf hasn't been there to provide the help I need. I cannot do it alone, I can't go through that again. Please please help. I can pay for services without an issue. What I can't do is live the 2 lives I'm currently living, yet I don't have the courage to put him down (per my father's request if he didn't get along) all 4 are wonderful kids with such distinct personalities, I love them all. But this is tearing me apart, my home, my bond with my dogs, my relationship. Sincerely,
