WHO WE ARE: Cascade Moving Labor, LLC. is now hiring an experienced moving lead position for our Eugene team. Must have moving experience. WHAT WE DO: All we do as a moving labor company is load and unload trucks and occasionally move things within a home or office. The customer is responsible for renting a moving truck. We do not drive the truck or transport their items in our vehicles. This allows us to keep our prices low and pay our team members well. Most moves are done in 2-6 hours. THE POSITION: This is a part time position starting at about 20-30 hours a week that will likely continue to get busier during summer. The start times vary each day. Sometimes we have morning jobs, sometimes afternoon jobs, sometimes both. You must have reliable transportation as you will be working jobs in and around the Eugene/Springfield area, sometimes further. The pay is $24/hr + tips. We receive tips on about 80% of jobs, but the actual dollar amounts vary greatly. YOU: Experienced and responsible mover that can load trucks/supervise a small team of one or two other people. You will be responsible for mapping out and loading the truck properly. You will be able to accurately judge how high or low to pack a truck in order to ensure the customer's goods arrive safely. You will be able to pack a truck from floor to ceiling safely and securely. You will be able to communicate with the customer and respond to any potential issues in a professional manner. This is an extremely physically demanding job. We usually use teams of two and occasionally three people. This means we can pay you better than most of our competitors, but all the work is on you and your team member. This is not a position for slackers or people who are accustomed to disappearing on the job and letting other people do the work. If you are not in great shape and not able to lift and control heavy pieces of furniture for hours on end with little to no breaks, this is not the job for you. Sometimes you will just be loading a truck, sometimes just unloading, and sometimes both. Sometimes you will be required to make multiple load/unload trips. We have a two hour minimum for all jobs, so if a job takes fifteen minutes or two hours, you will still be paid for two hours. Sometimes jobs go much shorter than they are scheduled and sometimes they go much longer than they are scheduled. In addition to being in great shape, it is equally important for you to maintain a professional attitude and have great customer service skills. You must be able to communicate and follow directions well. You must be able to make the customer feel taken care of and that they have made the right choice by choosing our company. You must be able to deal with customers that are stressed out and cranky in a professional way. Our company survives on 5 star customer reviews, and getting those reviews relies on a combination of customer service and professionalism.
