Learn how to get in and out of a Sit on Top kayak, kayak physics basics, paddling basics, and self-rescue.
This class will follow the Free-to-the-Public Seminar taking place just prior to this class at the same location from 11:30 - 1:00.
In this class from 1:30 - 3:00 I will instruct the following in an on the water class with Sit On Top kayaks:
How to get in and out of a kayak.Basic kayak physics that will help you understand how the kayak moves with you in it. Basic Kayak Paddling. (Three basic strokes).Kayak Self-rescue. You will get wet, please wear appropriate clothing and/or bring a change of clothes.I can provide enough equipment, including kayaks for five students.
I can instruct an additional 15 students if you provide your own equipment. **Which must include , a sit on top kayak, a properly fitting PFD/Life Jacket, and a paddle. **

It is highly recommended that you attend the Free-to-the-Public Seminar taking place just prior to this class.
Ages - 12 and up. Max weight is 400 lbs. due to kayak weight capacity limitations.
Please send approximate shirt/life jacket size and your approximate weight to [email protected] after purchasing a ticket to make sure we have appropriate sized safety gear and kayaks, thank you.
Ability to swim is highly recommended as we will be capsizing the kayaks and then getting back in.
**All participants must sign a waiver prior to start of class. Waiver will be available in person at time of event.**
